"My experience with State Farm was overwhelmingly negative, and I strongly recommend against using their services. I initially chose State Farm in March 2023 for auto and renter’s insurance because their premiums were highly competitive. However, my house was broken into in September 2023, and I filed a claim for approximately $11,500. State Farm only offered to pay $3,200. In hindsight, I should have rejected this payment and hired a lawyer to contest the $8,300 difference. The payment itself took three weeks to process, requiring daily follow-ups on my part. My agent, Shawn Wilkins, never reached out to me. State Farm claimed the difference was due to jewelry not being covered, but when I requested a copy of my policy to verify the terms, I never received a response. After my renter’s insurance expired, I received a letter stating that State Farm was dropping me from coverage. Shortly after, my auto insurance premium increased by 16%, which I suspect was an attempt to recoup their losses from my renter’s insurance claim. I would strongly advise against using State Farm and would actively discourage others from choosing their services."
